The little black dress was first introduced in 1926 by Coco Chanel. Vouge magazin published a picture of the very first little black dress and said that the lbd, little black dress, would become "a sort of uniform for all women of taste".
Black was often reserved for periods of mourning a cosidered indecent when worn outside such circumstances. That changed in 1926. The Little black dress continud to be popular through the great depression and is still very popular today. Hollywood's influence on fashion in north america helped the little black dress' popularity as the Technicolor films became more common.
The rise of Dior's "NEW LOOK" in the post-war era and the sexual conservatism of the 1950s returned the little black dress to its originally roots as a uniform and a symbol of the dangerous woman.
The genearation gap of the 1960s created an impackt in the design on the little black dress. THE YONGER GENERATION PREFERRED A MINISKIRT ON THIER VERSION OF THE DRESS and designers catrein to the youth culture continued to push the envelope - shortening the skirt even more, creating cutouts or slits in the skirt. many other women prefered a simple black dresses similar to that designed by hUBERT DE GIBENCHY AND WORN BY AUDREY HEPBURN IIN BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S.
DURIN 1980s the popularity of casual fabrics, espevially knits, for dress and business wear brought the little black dress back into vogue.
The little black dress is simply a black dress and you can have it however you like.. The dresses change with fashion and is always in style.
The fabric that i used are jersey strech and velour..
The dress it self is from jersey strech and the patches i sewed on are velour.
I have some feathers on the shoulders that are stuck to the dress with hooks so they are removable.
